Egyptian authorities rejected several requests from Egyptian and foreigner adventurers to climb The Great Pyramids of Giza in order to protect the Pyramids stones and adventurers' lives. Also, the authorities demanded people to respect the archaeological areas' laws. In 2013, a group of Russian tourists illegally climbed the Great Pyramid of Giza to take some photos. The authorities condemned this incident and called Russia to apologize. Climbing the Pyramids is forbidden since 1980 as the Egyptian law criminalizes climbing it to avoid stones damaging and serious accidents.
