Egypt grants 271,000 Casual Workers, Mawlid al-Nabi bonus

Manpower and Immigration Ministry approved on Tuesday a 100 EGP bonus for 271,701 registered casual workers in construction and agriculture fields nationwide in celebration of the Prophet's birthday.
Nahed Ashri, The Manpower and Immigration Minister said that the total number of casual workers in Egypt is up to 2.5 million workers, noting that only 352,416 workers are officially registered.
Moreover, Ashri announced that January 3 will be a paid holiday for all those in the private and public sectors in celebration of the Prophet's birthday.
The Islamic world will celebrate on Saturday the Prophet Mohammed's birth which falls on the 12th day of Rabi-ul-Awwal (third month of the Islamic calendar).
