The Student Union of the Economics and Political Science Faculty filed Saturday a complaint signed by 150 female students, with the President of Cairo University against a faculty professor, accusing him of sexual harassment. The Union issued a statement saying that the students had confirmed that the professor, not to be named for legal reasons, had harassed them sexually on numerous occasions, targeting the 3rd and 4th year students in particular, during lectures and at his office. Some of the students had resorted to social media to record their testimony against the professor, saying that during a recent test, he had asked them personal questions unrelated to the academic curriculum, on their appearance and accommodation spurring their decision to contact the anti-harassment movement on campus, for advice. The Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Hala al-Saed, supported the students and filed the complaint in person with the University President.
