Egypt's Prime Minister talks about several subjects including economic measures and Renaissance Dam
Published in Albawaba on 12 - 10 - 2015

The Prime Minister, Eng Ibrahim Mahlab, said Saturday that there are strong indications pointing out to the success of economic measures taken by the government to fix state budget, according to Al-Ahram.
He added in his statements to Al-Ahram that the indications were clear in many areas and appeared in the quality of services that have been provided to citizens in the recent period.
The Prime Minister also said that these measures have achieved savings in the budget amounting to 50 billion EGP, which will be directed to health and education sectors, pointing out that without these measures insufficiency would have continued.
Mahlab indicated that there is a focus in the field of health, where the government will start implementing projects to improve health service, such as "educational Tanta Hospital" that will be opened soon.
He indicated that these reforms have also appeared in providing goods and food in addition to expanding medical insurance coverage that serve the poor, social security pension and university hospitals.
Mahlab said "We may face difficulty in changing reality, but we always have plans to cope with problems, and we have already succeeded in it."
And regarding President statements on the plan to establish youth councils, Mahlab said "these councils will be for knowledge and alternatives to specialized national councils, with 50 percent of young people and people who have expertise in specific areas, aiming to integrate youths in political life to have a role in it and political experience".
He also denied postponement of parliamentary elections, saying "roadmap is clear and specific, we are working on its implementation and there is no talk about postponing".
The Prime Minister stressed that Halayeb triangle is 100 percent Egyptian, and the state has set up investment projects and services with total value in it estimated by 800 million EGP, and said "Egypt will only invest in its territory and homeland."
Mahlab said that Recep Tayyip Erdoğan statements are result of not understating or due to not seeing that Egypt is developing, adding that the country has a leader with a vision. The Prime Minister also said that the statements were not respected by Egyptians.
He also pointed out that Egypt reviewing trade agreements with Turkey or any other countries is for the benefit of the nation and not a response to any internal problems.
Regarding Renaissance Dam, Mahlab said "There is a new page with Ethiopia initiated by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in Malabo and we have a clear policy based on the full balance and concern for the relations with people".
He also said "we are committed to not approve any action that could harm Egypt and to encourage development in every country in the framework of balancing interests and ties."
Concerning the government situation regarding Qatar decisions to exclude some members of Muslim Brotherhood from its territory, Mahlab said " Egypt's position is always clear in the Arab World, every state needs to rearrange its position, distance from Egypt is a big loss, and who changes his position and comes back with Egypt is welcome, security of Egypt is the security of the Arab nation."
