As summer comes to its climatic end, hotels and resorts all across Egypt are offering lucrative packages for holidaymakers. Rehab Saad lists the best available deals
This year, August is literally the end of the summer season. Not only because schools and universities will open in early September but because the holy fasting month of Ramadan will start in mid-September. So even those who don't have school children and in the past used to wait until September to enjoy their holiday in peace will no longer have that luxury.
It means in effect that August is the last month when summer holidaymakers can enjoy the sun, sand and sea before autumn. Consequently, here are some of the packages that can be of interest. They are all tailored for Egyptians and foreign residents except when otherwise stated.
If you want to visit Sharm El-Sheikh in South Sinai, then Thomas Cook (+202 269 650 00) offers three nights in Iberotel Grand Sharm Hotel on Um Al-Sid Hill for LE639 per person in double superior rooms on bed and breakfast basis. You can also book three nights in Prima Life Rihana Resort on Nabq Bay for LE645 per person in a double room on half board basis. Both offers will last until the end of August.
Bon Voyage (+202 239 559 44) offers double rooms in the four-star Ghazala Hotel in Sharm El-Sheikh for LE195 per person per night on bed and breakfast basis. The offer is valid until mid- September.
The travel portal intoegypt.com also offers packages in Sharm El-Sheikh including Coral Beach Rotana Resort Tiran where you can stay for three nights in a double standard room for LE895 or in a sea view room for LE970 on all inclusive basis (all inclusive means that guests can eat and drink all day without paying extra; they are not restricted to breakfast and dinner buffets). The offer is valid until the end of August. Also offered by intoegypt.com are three nights in Creative Mexicana for LE480 per person in a standard double room. The offer is valid until mid-September.
For a more serene and cheaper holiday, you can choose either Dahab or Nuweiba to the north of Sharm El-Sheikh. The four-star Nuweiba Village in Nuweiba offers three nights, via Thomas Cook, for only LE291 per person in a double room on half board basis. The offer is valid until the end of August. You can also book three nights in Casa Del Mare, through intoegypt, for LE225 per person in a double standard room on half board basis. The package is valid until the end of August. Additionally, intoegypt.com offers three nights in Coralia Club Dahab for LE790 per person in a deluxe room on half board basis or in a sea view room for LE640. The offer is valid until the end of August.
If you are more into the Red Sea, there are many offers in Hurghada, El-Gouna, Soma Bay and Marsa Alam. Bon Voyage offers double rooms for LE200 per person per night in Sindbad Aqua Park Hotel in Hurghada on half board basis. The offer is valid until mid-August.
Intoegypt offers three nights in Coral Beach Rotana Resort Hurghada for LE1,045 per person in a double sea view room and for LE910 in a standard room on all inclusive basis. The offer is valid until the end of August.
Through intoegypt you can also book three nights in Arena Inn El-Gouna for LE535 per person in a double room or in Dawar Al-Omda for LE565. Accommodation in both offers is based on half board basis and is valid until the end of September.
If you want less traditional destinations, you can stay in Soma Bay or Marsa Alam to the south of the Red Sea. Thomas Cook offers three nights in the five-star La Residence Des Cascades Golf Resort on Soma Bay for LE990 per person on half board basis. The offer is valid until mid-September. You can also book three nights in the five-star Three Corners Fayrouz Plaza in Marsa Alam for LE690 per person in a double room on half board basis. The offer is valid until 11 October and from 18 to end of October.
The Mediterranean also has its own charm and its own deals. In Alexandria, Thomas Cook offers three nights in the four-star Mercure Romance Hotel for LE630 per person in a double room. The offer is valid until the end of August for Egyptians only. It also offers three nights in Aifu Horizon Resort in a double deluxe room in Montazah with a garden view for LE877. The offer is valid until 10 September. Accommodation in both offers is on bed and breakfast basis.
If you want to proceed to the northern Mediterranean coast, then you may want to consider the agency's offer of three nights in Marina Plaza for LE468 per person in a double room throughout September on bed and breakfast basis.
And if you want to go farther to the northwestern Mediterranean coast and have money to spare, then Almaza Beach Resort is where you will get three nights, through intoegypt, for LE2,400 in a superior room on bed and breakfast basis until the end of September.
Elegant Voyage (+202 373 515 15) also offers three nights in the four-star Beau Site Hotel in Marsa Matrouh for LE8,560 per person in a double room. Offer is valid until the end of September. For a much cheaper price in Marsa Matrouh you can book a double room in the three-star El-Kasr Hotel for LE95 per person per night. The offer is valid until the end of August. Accommodation in both is based on half board basis.
If you don't feel like driving that far and prefer a closer destination that has elegant resorts and good service, Ain Sukhna and Ras Sedr are the answer. Both are about two-hour drives from Cairo.
Bon Voyage offers accommodation in Romance Hotel in Ain Sukhna for LE190 per person per night in a double room. Offer is valid until mid-September. The company also offers double rooms in the five-star Stella Grand for LE240 per person per night. Offer is valid until the end of August. Both offers are based on half board basis.
Through intoegypt you can book three nights in Creative Jet Beach Resort Al-Sukhna for LE370 per person in a standard double room on half board basis. The offer is valid until the end of September.
Intoegypt also offers three nights in Creative Green Sedr in Ras Sedr on the Gulf of Suez for LE490 in double sea view rooms on half board basis. The offer is valid until the end of September.
So, there are the deals. All you have to do is pack up.
