Horoscopes:
Hearts and minds
By Imhotep
Crabs, as people born under the Cardinal Water sign of Cancer (22 Jun-22 Jul) are sometimes called, are feeling all at sea about the meaning of life these days. They might feel a bit anti-social these days, preferring to withdraw into a dream world where their creative and imaginative qualities can bring mental satisfaction.
As confusing as life might appear to be at the moment, my dear Cancerians, Imhotep predicts that this is a time of profuse outpouring of creative energies for creative Crabs.
But dear Cancerians, be prepared for rejection. Sometimes, sorrow can be healthy.
Family members are sometimes the hardest people to get along with. A brush with a brother, sister, parent, aunt, uncle or cousin might be cause for bitter resentment this August. But, painful experiences sometimes provide the challenging lessons we need to grow stronger and get the most out of life.
Be willing to think and act a little controversially. Throw down a gauntlet of challenge this August. Use your powerful pincers, Crabs.
And if you come up against any difficult dilemma, your vivid imagination will enable you to see a zillion solutions to every pressing problem, and you have a knack for opting for the most ideal solution. Listen to your inner voice.
Summer is party time for people born under the Fixed Fire sign of Leo (23 Jul-22 Aug). And there is plenty of opportunity to party in the weeks ahead. And, many Lions, as Leos are sometimes called, will dance out of the discos into the streets.
If this is too energetic for you, try gentler pursuits, like taking a boat, or hopping on and off feluccas for leisurely pastimes on the Nile. There is a good chance that such moments might become some of the most unforgettable in your life.
August, and especially around your birthday for those Lions born in the first two weeks of the month, might turn out to be a truly memorable month. August is full of very pleasant surprises for Leos.
Watch out for the golden sunsets in August, when Leos are liable to fall under a very special person's spell. The Sun rules Leo, and Leonians instinctively love summer. And, summertime loves them in turn, at least this summer. Leos will be exceptionally lucky this August, and the beginning of the month is an especially favourable time for conducting business and closing deals.
Friends and acquaintances might offer lots of advice and assistance. But don't count on them for everything.
If you are feeling flush, dear Virgoans as people born under the Mutable Earth sign of Virgo (23 Aug- 22 Sep) are sometimes called, then go ahead and embark on a shopping spree. You'll shop till you drop in the weeks ahead. The ultimate impulse purchase tempts you, my dear Virgoan, this August.
Virgoans don't really let their hearts rule their heads, but they do take a wildly impatient approach to life sometimes. Relax, take it easy.
Level-headed Virgoans don't willingly endure the manifold discomforts of life. Many Virgoans have weak constitutions and do not like to exert themselves.
They don't really want to know about disasters waiting to happen, either. And disasters wouldn't happen this August, even though Virgoans might feel the frustration of failed ambition in late July and early August. Don't worry, my dear Virgoans, the tide is turning in your favour. Self- confidence and strength of character will stand you in good stead this August.
Virgoans may not believe in love at first sight, but they certainly don't think that it is impossible. August is sure to leave Virgoans feeling good about their love lives. The stars resonate in harmony with the position of Venus in your birth charts, my dear Virgoans.
Love is in the air, again.
