EGYPTIAN equestrian Sameh Al-Dahan won the Global Champions Tour Grand Prix in Paris over the weekend. The victory earned the Egyptian horse rider standing praise and a round of applause from the crowds for his brilliant performance. The young Egyptian and his mare Suma's Zorro turned the tables on the heavyweights of show jumping, triumphing against 10 world-class riders in a stimulating and exhilarating jump on the spectacular stage of the Champs de Mars, next to the Eiffel Tower, allowing him to secure victory at the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Paris. Al-Dahan's victory also allowed him to qualify for the LGCT Super Grand Prix in Prague this December. “I can't explain my emotions. My mare tried her heart out,” said Al-Dahan, who achieved success in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower. “I am loving the crowds, everyone was behind us. I am so chuffed it hasn't really sunk in yet,” a victorious and happy Al-Dahan told the media after his victory. “I am also glad to qualify to the Grand Prix in Prague. That was one of our aims and at least now we have done it and can focus on bringing the mare there in best form and competing with the best 16 riders in the world and hopefully we'll pull out a great result there.”
