HANI Abu Rida, president of the Egyptian Football Association (EFA), has been elected to a third four-year term in the FIFA Council. Abu Rida, also a CAF executive committee member since 2004, beat his rival Zelkifili Ngoufonja of Cameroon 50 votes to four to extend his previous two mandates which started in 2009. Abu Rida The elections were held at the CAF extraordinary congress in Manama, Bahrain, on Monday 8 May. The Gulf nation is hosting FIFA's 67th congress from 10-11 May. Continental football confederations held their executive committee meetings and extraordinary congresses two days before FIFA's annual congress. Abu Rida and his board are still in Manama to attend the FIFA congress which will feature a long agenda that includes presenting and reviewing the reports of various FIFA committees the past year.
