The lecture is hosted by the AUC's School of Humanities and Social Sciences. It will reflect on Palestine's current impasses and imaginatively explore its possible futures through a detour through the experiences of unexpected places and peoples. Sat 31 & Sun 1, 9pm: “Creative Cities: Reframing Downtown”, an international conference, organized by the AUC and Cairo Lab for Urban Studies, Training and Environment Research. The conference will showcase comparative and interdisciplinary approaches to issues related to public space, heritage and urban culture, the revitalization of Cairo's Downtown in the context of gentrification and securitization and urban governance. It will consist of public plenary sessions as well as urban walking tours.
