Darb 1718 Kasr El Sham3 Street, Al Fakhareen, Old Cairo, near Mar Girgis Metro Station, Tel 2361 0511 "Wise Monkeys", a group exhibition of paintings, which is the reuslt of a series of workshops and a long term project called "Student Council" funded and curated by Studio Khana for contemporary art and cultural development. The project is designed to train Egyptian art students and qualify them to deal with the contemporary art movement (24 October-14 November).

Sudanese culture is the major theme in Salah El-Mur's artistic experiment. He also seeks inspiration from the faces of people and warm family relationships, friends and songs and folklore, and, of course, the country's green fields and mighty river, the Nile (11October-19 November). The exhibition is hosted by Mashrabia and Misr galleries.

The Photographic Gallery The American University in Cairo, New Cairo Campus, Abdul Latif Jameel Hall, Plaza Level, Tel 2615 3318 "Egypt Stereoviews: Underwood & Underwood", exhibition is organised by the gallery in cooperation with the AUC Rare Books and Special Collections Library. Stereoview (also called stereoscope or stereograph) is one of many techniques for creating or enhancing the illusion of three-dimensional depth from given two-dimensional images when viewed with stereoviewers. This exhibition is a unique interactive experience where the viewer has the opportunity to see these historical images in 3D through a stereoviewer box and anaglyph eyeglasses (11 October-12 November).

Souq Al-Fustat Mogamaa Al-Adian (religions complex), next to Amr Ibn Al-Ass Mosque, Old Cairo The Handicrafts Festival celebrates the craft of copper featuring a number of professional copper artisans. The opening and the closing ceremonies will be enlivened by Al-Tanoura troupe performances. The day will also offer a lecture on the craft of copper to be delivered by professor Heba Selim with the participation of a number of artisans (Thur 22, Fri 23, Sat 24, 10am-9pm, free entrance). All art lovers whether amateurs or artists are invited to participate in painting a huge mural on the Nubian art and heritage (Sat 24, 11am-2pm, free entrance).
