Water Colour, a new exhibition of paintings, is the strong comeback of artist Galal Al-Husseiny currently on display at Duroub Gallery in Garden City. It showcases 35 water colour paintings that brilliantly document the artist's tour of Siwa, Al-Dakhla and Al-Kharga oases, Aswan, Sinai and some cities in Ethiopia in 2010. The artist depicted the mesmerising landscapes, deeply impressed by the freshness of colours. Al-Husseiny is a modern realist who presented nine solo exhibitions and participated in ten collective shows. Acquarelle is among his favourite media especially for landscapes. An architect by training, Al-Husseini has managed to remain an amateur. He started painting in oil and he has said that his interest in water colour – a medium difficult to correct mistakes with yet the favourite of such celebrated artists as Adli Rezqallah – dates back to his school years when he impressed his teachers regularly with beautiful works in that medium. The exhibition is on until 20 November.
