"Hide and Seek", is the 23rd exhibition of the one shot group currently on show at thehistorically beautiful Amir Taz Palace located inCairo's Al-Khalifa district.Itshowcases 70 paintings created by 25 artists inspired by the masterpiece of veteran artist Gazbia Sirry entitled "Hide and Seek." The artists endeavoured to decipher the symbols of Sirry's painting adding some expressionist touches to the surrealist style preserving the original spirit of the work. Each one of the artists identified himself with the character of Sirry who gained fame for her authentic and deep sense of the Egyptian alley. The one shot group, supervised by artist Abdel-Aziz Al-Guindi, present usually art pieces which are one shot only but each one of the artists reflect this shot in his or her very own unique style and vision using different mediums. Founded in 2002, the group started with 15 artists who are students and graduates at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Helwan University. Today, the group comprises talents from different art faculties who gather every Friday at 8am in one of Cairo's colourful historic districts or archaelogical sites. The exhibition is running through10 June.
