Chelsea's Salah praises teammates for helping him settle in Mohamed Salah is adapting to life in the English Premier League after opening his Chelsea account in last Saturday's 6-0 drubbing of London rivals Arsenal
Mohamed Salah paid tribute to his teammates for helping him settle in after making a surprise January move to Chelsea, which he described as one of the best clubs in the world. The Egypt winger notched his maiden Chelsea goal on his fourth substitute appearance, making an instant impact after replacing Brazilian playmaker Oscar in the second half. He sprang the offside trap to put the icing on the cake and heap more misery on Arsenal with a sixth goal. "It's very important for me and it's great for my confidence," Salah said in an interview with Chelsea's official website on Friday. "It was very nice to see the reaction of my teammates when I scored. They have really helped me settle in." Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho repeatedly said the 21-year-old would need some time to adapt to life in the Premier League, having joined the Blues from Basel after enjoying a successful 18-month stint with the Swiss side. Salah is aware his task to establish himself as a first-team regular would not be easy, given the strong competition he is facing. "Here in England it's very different to playing in Switzerland,' he considers. It's the best league in the world and it's more difficult here because every player is so strong and aggressive," he said. "The games are quicker, too. You have to concentrate very hard before every game, even the day or two days before, because every match is so difficult. "I hope to play some more matches but I know now it's difficult because I came in winter. Also, I'm now at one of the best clubs in the world. It's not easy to play because all of our players are very, very good. "We are first in the league so it is not easy to go directly into the team and play every game. I will try to play and now I have one goal I would like to score some more - that is what everybody wants!"
