The EGX30, Egypt's main stock index has closed 1.42 per cent down at 5,349 points on the first trading day of the week. The broader EGX70 and EXG100 also dipped 1.05 per cent and 1.21 per cent respectively. Total market turnover was reported as LE381,687,567. Heaviest trade was in construction and materials, telcommunications and banks. Of 180 listed stocks, 143 saw losses and 31 gained. Declines were noted across all sectors with the exception of food and beverages and health care and pharmaceuticals.
