Egypt's benchmark index slumped for a second day, dropping 3.17 per cent to close at 4,956 points. The broader EGX100 was even harder hit, shedding 3.37 per cent. Of 184 listed stocks, 173 declined and 8 gained, with a total of LE483.7 million changing hands during the day's trade. Construction and materials was the only sector to finish Monday on an up note, although individual firms like Kafr El Zayat Pesticides and Arab Pharmaceuticals saw healthy gains of 9.2 and 7.8 per cent respectively.
