Ismaily missed out on the chance to leapfrog Group B leaders Petrojet after slumping to a surprise 1-0 defeat by Qanah in the Egyptian Premier League on Thursday.
A 60th-minute goal by Gharib Fathy was enough to condemn the Dervishes to their second loss of the season, with the midfielder smashing home Dodji's initial shot on the rebound.
Ismaily, however, remain second of the table with 23 points - two adrift of Petrojet, who played out a goalless stalemate with Talae El-Gaish three days ago.
Elsewhere, Wadi Degla drew 0-0 with Ittihad El-Shorta to climb to third place on 15 points as they take on rock bottom Minya next week.
