Egypt midfielder Mahmoud "Shikabala" Abdel-Razek did not enjoy the best of debuts with Sporting Lisbon after limping off the pitch in the first half of the 'B' side's 1-0 defeat against Tondela.
Shikabala, signed in the final moments of the January transfer window by the Portuguese team, played no more than 28 minutes as he was forced off following a fierce challenge by an opponent.
Despite trying to shrug off his pain and continue on the pitch after the foul against his left foot, Shikabala had to eventually give up and make way for another winter-signing, Ousmane Dramé.
Shikabala, however, managed to make an impact during his short-lived spell on the pitch, winning Sporting a penalty that was eventually missed.
The nature and the full extent of the injury have yet to be determined though, as the 27-year-old will have scans on Monday.
