Egypt's Mubarak arrives at court for latest hearing in killing of protesters retrial
Court set to hear testimony from Hamdy Badeen, former head of the military police

Deposed Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak arrived Saturday to the Police Academy in Cairo for the latest hearing in his retrial on charges of killing peaceful protesters during the January 25 Revolution.
Mubarak along with his former interior minister, Habib Al-Adly, and six top security aides was acquitted of the charges in January 2013 on procedural grounds after being convicted in June 2012 following his first trial.
This session of the retrial is scheduled to include testimony by the former head of the military police, Hamdy Badeen.
Omar Badawi, chief executive of the national telecommunications regulatory authority, has been called for his testimony on the communications blackout imposed during opening days of the revolution.
In the last session of the retrial, 12 January, veteran journalist Ibrahim Eissa, a onetime staunch opponent of Mubarak, testified on the events of 25 January 2011.
Following conviction in the first trial, Mubarak and Al-Adly were sentenced to life inprison.
