Students at Ain Shams University demand the release of fellow students Two students at the university were detained on 9 March in Tahrir Square and sentenced by the military
Ain Shams University students and professors marched through their campus today, demanding the release of their colleagues who were arrested on 9 March when the army forcibly evacuated Tahrir Square. The students who were arrested are Amr Eissa and Raef El-Kashef. Eissa, a student in the faculty of commerce and a budding artist, was arrested on 9 March. Eissa was tried in a military court and handed a three year sentence. El-Kashef, was sentenced to one year. The protesting students and professors also asked for the university president Maged El Deeb to step down.
