Ahly players will begin training on Thursday in Garoua in preparation for the game against Cameroon's Coton Sport in the first leg of the CAF Champions League semifinals. The Ahly crew arrived in Cameroon on Thursday morning by private jet ahead of the crucial game against Coton. "The team arrived to Garoua this morning and will train at 4:30 pm Cairo time to prepare for the Coton Sport game," read a statement on Ahly's website Thursday. The Cameroonians Coton Sport will host Ahly in the first leg of the CAF Champions League semifinals in Garoua on 5 October, while the second leg will be played in Egypt on 20 October. Ahly coach Mohamed Youssef will have to make do without injured strikers Emad Meteb and Amr Gamal. Defender Sherif Abdel-Fadil has been called up as he is recovering from a calf injury he sustained during the El-Dakhleya friendly on Monday. The Red Devils squad also deemed Walid Soliman and Ahmed Fathi fit for the game. Cairo giants Ahly won their group to qualify for the semifinal. Coton Sport qualified after finishing second in Group B with eight points, seven behind Esperance de Tunis. The seven-time African champions Ahly are eyeing their eighth title in the continental competition as Coton Sports seeks their first African title.
