Egypt's Nour Party unhappy following cabinet snub Salafist Nour Party expresses frustration, demands 'specific explanation for not inviting the party to participate' in meeting with PM Hazem El-Beblawi
The Salafist Nour Party expressed dissatisfaction with Egypt's interim cabinet for failing to invite the party to a meeting between Prime Minister Hazem El-Beblawi and different political parties, with the aim of ending the ongoing political deadlock. "Nour Party is demanding a specific explanation for not inviting the party to participate in El-Beblawi's meeting," Nour spokesman Sherif Taha was quoted as saying by Al-Ahram's Arabic news website. The Nour Party, the political arm of the Salafist Call Society, has been involved in talks and reconciliation efforts in Egypt since the ouster of former elected president Mohamed Morsi. The party, however, faced a wave of criticism for reportedly objecting to the appointment of Mohamed ElBaradei as prime minister, before the latter was installed as vice president. http://english.ahram.org.eg/News/78238.aspx
