Ahly wait for CAF response over Orlando Pirates match delay
Ahly to play South Africa's Orlando Pirates in Aswan in case CAF refuses to delay game
Published in Ahram Online on 28 - 07 - 2013

Ahly football management are racing time to find a stadium to host South Africa's Orlando Pirates in the second match of the group stage, scheduled for 4 August, after army-owned Air Defence stadium refused.
"We are waiting for CAF's response over delaying the game against the Orlando Pirates," Ahly football director Sayed Abdel-Hafiz was quoted as saying on the club's official website.
The seven-time African champions have officially asked the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to postpone the game for five days, to be played on 9 August instead of 4, to give them a chance to find a host stadium.
"We are working to find replacements in case the CAF refused our request, as we can play the game in Aswan stadium in case they agreed to host the game," Abdel-Hafiz added.
Early last week, the CAF accepted Zamalek's request to delay their game against Ahly in the opening round of the group stage due to security reasons. It was moved to Gouna
Stadium, a Red Sea resort, and played last Wednesday after being delayed twice.
The Group A is deadlocked after the first round, with Zamalek-Ahly (1-1) and Orlando Pirates-Ac Leopards (0-0) ended in stalemate.
