Four members of the Egyptian cabinet have resigned in protest at President Mohamed Morsi's failure to respond to nationwide demonstrations against his rule.
The ministers of parliamentary affairs, tourism, environment and communication tendered their resignations to Prime Minister Hisham Qandil on Monday, a cabinet official said.
The prime minister is yet to respond to the move.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Hatem Begato, formerly a judge on Egypt's High Constitutional Court, was appointed in May.
Tourism MinisterHisham Zaazoutendered his resignation in mid-June over President Morsi's decision to appoint a member of Al-Gamaa Al-Islamiya as governor of Luxor. The group is blamed killing 58 foreign tourists and four Egyptians in the temple city in 1997.
PM Qandil refused to accept Zaazou's resignation, however, and asked him to remain in the post. The embattled Luxor governor resigned a week later following a backlash against his appointment.
Khaled Fahmy Abdel-Aal and Atef Helmi, ministers of environment and communication respectively, were both appointed in PM Qandil's first cabinet reshuffle in January.
