Zamalek to hold ceremony for Egypt's former star Mido
Former Pharaohs frontman recently repaid the faith of his boyhood club fans by dropping expectations the Cairo giants, Zamalek would pay $640,000 owed him

Zamalek management is to honour the club and Egypt former star Ahmed Hossam 'Mido' for his loyalty.
The Whites former hitman, who recently announced he was quitting football, decided to drop the financial dues owed him by Zamalek after fans spontaneously chanted his name in praise during Sunday's 2-1 league win over Ismaily.
"The club board will hold a ceremony to honour Mido," reads a statement on the club official website published late on Monday.
"Zamalek want to thank the player after his decision to not request his dues, estimated at LE4.5 million [$640,000]," the statement added.
Earlier on June, the 30-year old striker announced he would retire from football after failing to find a club since leaving English Championship side Barnsley in January.
The former Zamalek, Ajax, Marseille, Roma and Tottenham striker signed a one-year contract with English Championship side Barnsley last summer, but left by mutual consent six months later.
Mido only appeared once for the Tykes due to persistent fitness problems before he left in January and has been without a club ever since.
The towering frontman came through the youth ranks of Cairo's Zamalek before beginning a European adventure at the age of 17, playing for nine teams, including two spells with Tottenham Hotspur and two with Ajax Amsterdam.
He failed to realise his potential at the international level, missing Egypt's African Cup of Nations triumphs in 2008 and 2010.
He was part of their squad in 2006 but missed the final victory over the Ivory Coast in Cairo following an infamous touchline altercation with then-coach Hassan Shehata.
