Egypt suffered a heat wave on Sunday as temperatures soared to above 40 Celsius. The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) reported that daytime temperatures in Cairo and the Nile Delta hit 42 Celsius, falling to 22 at night. Forecasters expect temperatures to fall to 36 Celsius in the capital on Monday. Upper Egypt suffered from temperatures of 45 Celsius on Sunday and a predicted 27 Celsius tonight.
