Ivory Coast's midfielder Yaya Toure believes he made the right choice to extend his stay with Manchester City, insisting that he is eager to help the Citizens enter football's global elite. Earlier on April, the 29-year-old Ivorian star has signed a new long-term contract that will keep him at the Premier League champions until 2017. "I was thinking about it [for] a long time and want to have a long time at City because it is a club where everybody wants to achieve something," Toure was quoted as saying by Sky Sports on Saturday. "City have a big project in the future and I am very happy with my decision. "I want to stay at the one club where I will get everything and I think the club will get everything here. "The people are nice, the fans are nice and they have a big project," he added. Toure, who joined City in a 24 million pound ($36.43 million) deal from Barcelona in 2010, has contributed much in guiding City to the league title last season. He also scored the only goal in City's FA Cup final victory over Stoke City in 2011, their first major trophy since 1976. "If I retire at Manchester City I hope to retire with a lot of trophies, something very important," said Toure hinting that he could end his football career with the Premier League club. "I want to do as much as possible to make this club become great, with my force, my commitment, my mentality. Most importantly, I want to try to make the fans happy," he concluded.
