French Ligue1 outfit Nice have offered Ahly's youngster Mahmoud Hassan a trial, the Egyptian giants said on Tuesday. The 18-year-old midfielder, who is nicknamed after former France star David Trezeguet, rose to prominence with some fine displays in the heart of Ahly's midfield this season, providing adequate cover for regular duo Hossam Ashour and Hossam Ghaly. "Nice have sent us a fax asking to hand Trezeguet a trial with a view to signing him," Ahly's football director Hady Khashaba said on the club's official website. "The player's commitments with Ahly and the national youth team could prevent him from undergoing the trial now but we will set another date later so that Trezeguet can travel and have that trial." Trezeguet was part of Egypt's U-20 side that won the African Championship last month.
