Darb 1718 will host a one-day cultural festival entitled 'Masr Tegmaana' ('Egypt Brings Us Together') on Saturday, 20 April, at its premises. Organised by the Selmiyah independent cultural movement, the one-day festival will feature a number of performances, including theatrical performance by 'We Lessa' Theatre Group, in addition to musical performances by Mai Abdel-Aziz, Sout El-Sharee and the Hip Hop Project. The one-day event will also feature a number of art workshops for children and adults, including graffiti and photography. 'Masr Tegmaana' is part of the movement's cultural campaign of the same name, which aims to create common spaces for dialogue, communication and joint action with a view to breaking the current state of polarisation in Egyptian society. The Selmiyah Movement was formally launched late last year. Programme Darb 1718, Saturday, 20 April, 9am to 10pm Qasr Al-Shamee, Al-Fustat, Old Cairo http://english.ahram.org.eg/News/69403.aspx
