Egypt's injured Gedo doubtful for Ipswich clash Hull City striker Gedo is likely to miss his team's Saturday clash with Ipswich due to recurrent foot injury
Hull City boss Steve Bruce on Thursday said the team's Egyptian striker, Mohamed Nagy 'Gedo,' must prove his fitness before travelling to Ipswich Town on Friday. Second-placed Hull City will face Ipswich on Saturday in the 42nd matchday of the English second division. The 28-year-old sustained a foot injury during his side's 1-0 win over Middlesbrough last weekend. Scans have since revealed that the injury has troubled him before. The Egyptian striker has sat out of training all this week and will undergo medical testing on Friday. "We've given him the week off of full training to see how it turns out, and we'll have a look at him again before we travel," Bruce told the Mail. "He broke a bone in his foot five years ago and it looks like he aggravated it trying to block a ball," the coach added. "We'll just have to see how he responds to treatment. But there's no point in taking risks with so many big games coming up," Bruce concluded. Gedo – who arrived to Hull City in January after signing a six-month loan deal with the English club – has made a good start, scoring five goals in six matches. He failed, however, to score any goals within the last five games. (For more sports news and updates, follow Ahram Online Sports on Twitter at@AO Sports and on Facebook at AhramOnlineSports)
