Zamalek coach happy as team cruises in Egyptian league

After extending their flying Egyptian Premier League start to eight consecutive wins, Zamalek coach Jorvan Vieira praised the performance of his team's players as well as Ismaily during the Whites' 2-0 win over the Dervishes in the 8th matchday of the Egyptian Premier League on Saturday.
"The game between Zamalek and Ismaily is a good opportunity to watch a nice game between two superb sides," Viera told the post game press conference.
"We lost more chances during the first halftime due to the players' hope to take the lead early," the Zamalek coach added.
"In the second half I asked the players to be patient to win the game."
Group B runaway leaders Zamalek have maximum 24 points from eight matches, six clear of second-placed Ismaily who had to do without several key players, including midfielder Amr El-Sulaya, due to injuries.
"I thank god for finishing the first round with eight consecutive wins without any losses."
The popular Cairo-based club next face Vita Club of the DR Congo in the second leg of the African Champions League round of 32 where they will be looking to defend a 1-0 first-leg advantage.
"I do my best during every game to win and send the trophy for the supporters," the Zamalek tactician concluded.
Ismaily are also preparing for a regional game against Algeria's USM Alger in the Arab Cup semis on Tuesday, few days before they fly to Madagascar for the second leg of their Confederation Cup round of 32 clash with Terrible CO, whom they defeated 2-0 in Cairo on 17 March.
"Zamalek deserve the victory as my players were not in their form today," Ismaily coach Sabry El-Menyawi said.
"The loss to Zamalek is not the end as we still have games to play," he added.
Ismaily had two penalty claims waved away by the referee in the latter stages as Zamalek held on for another win to maintain their splendid run.
"I refuse to comment on the referee," Ismaily coach concluded.
