Graffiti/new expressionism exhibition at Mashrabia On 6 March Mashrabia opens a new exhibition where graffiti meets new expressionism. Prepare yourself for Amre Heiba's take on 'Still Life'
Works by Amre Heiba presenting mainly still life, acrylic on canvas, are described as a cross between graffiti and new expressionism. Heiba's new work causes the viewer a sense of disorientation. Although it represents scenes of daily life, time and space remain undefined - almost suspended. Human beings and animals are part of the scenes, but the artist treats them as objects, reason for this exhibition's provocative title: Still Life. The exhibition opens on 6 March at 7pm and runs until 7 April. Mashrabia Gallery of Contemporary Art, 8, Champollion St., Downtown - Cairo Opening hours: daily 11am - 8pm, closed Fridays
