Drivers in Cairo, notorious for its traffic congestion, suffered additional delays on Wednesdaycaused by rain showers overnight. As winter showed its ugly face a few days ago, rain has been causing more traffic delays, accidents and disturbances to daily life. Tunnels and bridges in Cairo have witnessed a number of minor accidents, according to the Al-Ahram Arabic website. The Cairo-Alexandria road witnessed an accident on Wednesday morning when a truck hit a bus, leaving two dead and 15 injured. Meanwhile, state-owned news agency MENA has reported that meteorological authorities expect rain showers to continue on Wednesday in several parts of the country and there is a risk of flood inthe Sinai Peninsula.
