El-Erian: A woman or a Copt running for presidency is constitutional A prominent member of the Muslim Brotherhood says that according to the constitution women and Copts could run for presidency
Essam El-Erian, a leading member of the Muslim Brotherhood, stated Monday that the constitution recognises the right of a woman or a Copt to run for the presidency. He added that the current Cabinet's amendment is nothing but a means to get around the uprising's demands. Moreover, he stated that they were not invited to contribute to the upcoming cabinet. El-Erian also demanded the release of all political prisoners and the prosecution of all those responsible for shedding blood. He also stressed that Egypt's current changes are not enough and don't meet the uprising's demands.
