Forward Andre Ayew could be punished by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) after reacting angrily to being substituted during the team's 1-0 victory over Malawi in their final African Nations Cup qualifier.
According to a report on Ghanasoccernet.com, which cited Happy FM as a source, the Marseille man refused to shake the hands of team manager Sabahn Quaye and his teammates on the bench and gestured angrily on his way out to the dugout.
“We met and have decided to give him one week to apologise so we are waiting for that and if he fails to do so, then we will take the necessary actions,” Ghana FA chairman Kwesi Nyantakyi told Accra-based Happy FM.
Four-time winners Ghana qualified for the African Nations Cup with a 3-0 aggregate victory.
