Ghana striker Richmond Boakye Yiadom has tipped his countryman Kwadwo Asamoah as African Player of the Year 2012, citing his "superb" performance with Juventus this season. "If we talk about the five best players in Africa, I would definitely say Kwadwo is the best. There is no doubt about the talent he possesses," Boakye was quoted as saying by Ghanasoccernet. The 23-year-old attacker Asamoah joined Serie A giants Juventus during the summer transfer window for the 2012 season. He came from rivals Udinese with whom he had shown solid form during Italian League games. "Ghana is lucky to have a player like Kwadwo and the Black Stars will go places with him. Asamoah was named Africa's best young player by [the Confederation of African Football]," Boakye added. The Ghanaian striker helped Juventus win the Italian Super Cup and has since been rated one of Europe's best playrs in weekly rankings. Boakye played alongside Asamoah with Juventus until he was loaned out to Serie B side Sassuolo. "I know [Asadmoah] really well and I can tell you for a fact that he is a player who is very much committed to football," the Ghana striker said.
