Lierse's Egyptian winger Ahmed Samir Farag faces at least six months on the sidelines after suffering a serious knee injury, the Belgian club said on Friday. “As we feared, the injury of Ahmed Samir Farag turned out to be very serious. He tore cruciate ligament in his knee during training on Wednesday,” Lierse said on the club's official website. “He will be out for at least six months. Lierse wish the player a speedy recovery.” Farag has joined Lierse, who are owned by Egyptian businessman Maged Sami, in the close season after his contract with Ismaily expired. The 26-year-old, who had a brief stint with French side Sochaux in 2005, is a regular starter for Lierse.
