Tahrir Doctors to help field hospitals in Syria Revolutionary doctors group calls for volunteers to work in Syrian field hospitals, announces fund raising effort to send medical supplies to the country
An organisation of doctors who treat injured protesters in Tahrir Square has called for volunteers to work in Syrian field hospitals. Tahrir Doctors made the request on Tuesday via its official Facebook page. In addition, the group said it had signed a memorandum of understanding with the Union of Syrian Medical Relief Organisations to collect donations for field hospitals in the country. Tahrir Doctors is an association of doctors who have volunteered to help injured protesters during protests and strikes in Tahrir Square since 2011. The group has already been providing medical help to Syrian refugees arriving in Egypt. The Human Relief Committee of the Egyptian Doctors Syndicate announced last week the establishment of a LE4 million fund to support a field hospital in Aleppo.
