Egypt camp begins Monday to prepare for World Cup friendlies The Pharaohs head to Alexandria for a closed camp ahead of Benin and Cameroon friendlies in Borg El-Arab Stadium
The Egyptian National team, under the leadership of American coach Bob Bradley, begin a closed training camp Monday to prepare for Benin and Cameroon friendly games taking place on 7 and 11 September. The two friendlies are to be held amid the Pharaohs preparations for the Zimbabwe clash in round three of Group G in the World Cup 2014 qualifiers in March 2013. Egypt are on top of the group with six points from two games after beating Mozambique and Guinea. The team will hold their Monday trainings in Cairo before heading to Alexandria, to play the friendlies in Borg El-Arab Stadium. The seven-time African champions were knocked out of the first round of 2013 African Cup of Nations qualifiers after a 4-3 loss on aggregate to Central Africa's Minnows.
