Hundreds of people gathered today in front of the Arbaeen police station in Suezdemanding the release of relatives who were arrested in protests the past two days. Reports say those arrested are between 300 to 400, but the figure has yet to be officially confirmed. In the hours following the gathering, as people waited, demanding their loved ones, stationed riot police started firing tear gas grenades and rubber bullets at the gathering, which erupted into anti-regime chants and stone-throwing. Much like has been witnessed in Cairo this week, the riot police subsequently stormed the crowd, firing tear gas with abandon and dispersing them into side-streets.Eye witnesses and doctors have said police is using live ammunition, although this has not been officially confirmed. Initial reports indicate that there have been dozens of injuries as a result of today's violence. Four people were killed during clashes with riot police on Tuesday and Wednesday.
