Ahly have defeated their Egyptian Premier League counterparts Dakhlya 2-1 Monday in the team's last friendly match in preparations for the derby with Zamalek in the CAF Champions League group stage on 22 July. The Red Devils began their preparations for the Whites clash by defeating Ittihad of Alexandria 1-0 on Friday. The winners of six CAF Champions League trophies have defeated DR Congo champions TP Mazembe 2-1 in the first round of the continental tournament. Cairo foes Ahly and Zamalek will meet at Military academy stadium in Cairo behind closed doors due to lingering security concerns. The last time they met in Africa's premier club competition was in 2008 when they drew 2-2 in the group stage. Ahly went on to win a record-breaking sixth title, one ahead of Zamalek.
