In addition to Tevez, coach Sergio Batista omitted Atletico de Madrid forward Sergio Aguero and defenders Martin Demichelis of Malaga and Gabriel Heinze of Marseille. Also missing was Real Madrid's injured forward, Gonzalo Higuain.
Barcelona star Lionel Messi, who won FIFA's best player award for the second straight season, was selected Monday for the match in Geneva.
