Basel new man Salah relishes European Champions League dream Basel's new signing Mohamed Salah is eagerly waiting to play in the prestigious European Champions League
Mohamed Salah is relishing the prospect of playing in the European Champions League after taking part in his first training sessions with Swiss side Basel. The promising Egyptian international, who plays as a winger or a deep-lying forward, joined the Swiss league champions from Egyptian Premier League side Arab Contractors for 1 million Euro. "I'm very happy with my first training session at Basel. I cannot say much yet, but I already witnessed differences with Egypt, where I played before," Salah told Basel's official website. "Everything goes fast in Swiss football; you can't keep the ball for so long. It's a dream for any African player to come to Europe – I consider myself very lucky. "The FCB is a great club. I was impressed with how respectful they were towards me. It would be a dream to play in the Champions League," he added. Salah burst onto the scene with some eye-catching displays during Egypt's U-20 African Nations Cup and World Cup campaigns last year. He has been a regular starter for Egypt's senior team since American coach Bob Bradley took over in November last year. He played in the Pharaohs' first two World Cup qualifiers against Mozambique and Guinea and the opening Nations Cup qualifier against Central Africa.
