'We want to win all trophies in 2021-22': Zamalek coach Carteron
Published in Ahram Online on 09 - 09 - 2021

Zamalek coach Patrice Carteron revealed his team's readiness for the new season competitions, confirming the Whites will play "to win all the trophies" next year after they won the Egyptian Premier League last season.
"The team will compete on five trophies including Egyptian Cup title of the last and new seasons, the Egyptian Premier League, domestic Super Cup and African Champions League," Carteron was quoted as saying on Zamalek's official website.
"We will deal with the new season and the games' sequence as we did in the last games of Egyptian Premier League," the 51-year-old French tactician, who took over the job in March 2021 in his second tour with the Whites, said.
"We will give all the players their chances to participate as there won't be a player who plays all games," Carteron stressed.
Last month, Zamalek snatched the 2020-21 Egyptian Premier League title in the final stretch of the season after winning the last eight games to pull ahead of second-place Ahly with four points to finish with an impressive total of 80.
On 2 October, the Whites will be competing to claim a second straight trophy as they are scheduled to face minor side Aswan in the Egypt Cup's semifinals.
Zamalek, who bagged only 13 Egyptian Premier League titles, last won the domestic competition in 2014-15 season as well as claiming their 27th Egypt's Cup trophy in 2017-18 season.
Meanwhile, the Egyptian Football Association announced this week that the new Premier League season will kick off on 25 October.
