Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly met on Monday with Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mohamed Shaker to discuss the activities of the standing committee tasked with following up on the performance of projects with a strategic dimension in the electricity sector. During the meeting, the electricity minister reviewed the electricity sector projects covered by the committee, including the electrical supply to the South Valley projects: the East Owainat and the South Valley Development Project in Toshka. Shaker also touched on a project to secure electricity supply to the national project for the development of Sinai. The minister also reviewed the implementation rates of the high-voltage cable tunnel project in the New Administrative Capital, noting that electricity has been connected to the three transformer stations there. Shaker added that voltage is now high enough to operate the government district buildings in the New Administrative Capital. The meeting also covered the status of strengthening electricity interconnection with Sudan, as well as that between Egypt, Jordan and Iraq.
