Mamelodi Sundowns Uruguayan winger Gaston Sirino has expressed his desire to play for Egyptian and African giants Ahly, confirming that he would do his best to reach an agreement between the two clubs' managements if negotiations started again. The 30-year-old winger was close to joining Ahly last season but negotiations between Sundowns and the Cairo giants were halted after the South African team asked to raise the offer. "I still have two years in my contract with Sundowns and I have a good relationship with Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane, who brought me to South Africa when he was leading the team," Sirino told Egyptian TV sports programme late on Wednesday. "I hope the negotiations between Ahly and Sundowns run more smoothly this time, and I will do my best to reach an agreement between the two sides because it's my dream to play for Ahly, who have made international and African history," the Uruguayan winger added. "I don't pay attention to my age as I always feel I enjoy excellent fitness and I always work on myself, so I am not worried," Sirino said. The in-form winger revealed that Ahly is one of the best African teams and has an illustrious history, always putting on a superb performance in all competitions, so playing for them would be a dream come true for him. Sirino, who joined Sundowns in the winter transfer window of the 2018 season coming from Bolivian side Bolívar, made 27 appearances with the South African team so far this season, scoring 5 goals and providing 3 assists.
