Egypt has offered condolences to the Democratic Republic of Congo over the victims of a ferryboat that sank in the Congo River on Monday. In an official statement, Egyptian foreign ministry said Egypt extends its sincerest condolences to the families of the boat's victims and wishes a speedy recovery for those injured in the incident. The ministry added "Egypt stands by our sisterly country during such a tragedy." The sinking of the boat that was carrying over 700 people resulted in the death of at least 60 people, while some 300 survived, according to DRC's Humanitarian Affairs Minister Steve Mbikayi. Mbikayi said another 240 remain unaccounted for.
