The Egyptian Ministry of transportation announced on Tuesday the return of shipping and maritime activities between Egypt and Qatar following the resumption of the relations between the two countries. The decision came in accordance with Al-Ula agreement for Arab reconciliation with Qatar which was signed on 5 January. Al-Ula agreement ended a diplomatic and travel boycott by the Arab Quartet — Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Bahrain — on Doha since June 2017. Last week Egypt agreed with Qatar to resume diplomatic relations between them. Qatar Airways and EgyptAir resumed on Monday flights to the two countries' capitals after Egypt ended a three-and-half year boycott of Doha also last week.
