Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi is headed to Jordan on Monday in an official visit upon an invitation by King Abdullah II to discuss bilateral relations and regional issues. According to the Egyptian presidency, the two leaders will discuss ways to boost Egyptian-Jordanian relations, in addition to exchanging views on regional issues in light of the keeness of both sides on regular coordination to unify efforts to protect Arab national security. The visit comes less than a week after Cairo hosted a quartet meeting attended by the foreign ministers of France, Germany and Jordan to discuss coordination and consultation on means to push forward with the Middle East peace process. In August, El-Sisi attended a tripartite summit in Amman between Egypt, Jordan and Iraq to discuss partnership prospects between the three countries, as well as regional issues, including the Palestinian cause.
