Could the media and film portrayals of gender be harming women in our society? Join the debate and live online polls both virtually and in Ewart Memorial Hall for a limited audience as it investigates whether the attempts to reflect real life in the media may be contributing to sexual harassment conduct. The event will be moderated by TV presenter and actor Mourad Makram. Panelists include scriptwriter Tamer Habib, actor and AUC student Ahmed Dash, Amal Fahmy (MA '10), managing director of Tadwein gender research center and Mervat Abou Oaf ('88,'02), professor of practice of journalism and mass communication. The Italian Institute continues the posts of videos in Arabic with translations from the Divine Comedy, Dante Alighieri's masterpiece, to bring the Arab-speaking public closer to the work of the supreme poet. Videos are directed by Giabluca Barbadori, with the special participation of Ashraf Farouk, Amir Salaheddin, Sherine Hegazy, and Sara El Mokadem.
