Egypt's Sisi appreciates Morocco-Israel normalisation for achieving more stability, cooperation in the region

Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi said on Thursday that he valued the Morocco-Israel normalisation agreement, describing it as an “important step” for achieving “more stability and regional cooperation.”
“I have followed with great interest the important development regarding Morocco and Israel agreeing to normalise relations between them under American auspices,” El-Sisi wrote in his official Twitter account on Thursday.
Israel and Morocco agreed earlier on Thursday to normalise relations in a US-brokered deal.
Morocco is the fourth Arab country since August to sign a deal aimed at normalising relations with Israel. The three others states are the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Sudan.
"Another HISTORIC breakthrough today! Our two GREAT friends Israel and the Kingdom of Morocco have agreed to full diplomatic relations – a massive breakthrough for peace in the Middle East!" Trump tweeted on Thursday.
According to the White House, Trump sealed the agreement in a phone call with Morocco's King Mohammed VI on Thursday.
As part of the agreement, according to Reuters, U.S. President Donald Trump changed longstanding U.S. policy and recognised Morocco's sovereignty over the Western Sahara.
The Western Sahara is a desert region where a decades-old territorial dispute has pitted Morocco against the Algeria-backed Polisario Front, a breakaway movement that seeks to establish an independent state in the territory.
